Yuvajana Sakhyam (Y.S) had a blessed year with 100 members and their families actively engaged in theme based prayer meetings, fostering healthy fellowship and undertaking charitable opportunities. 11 prayer meetings were held, enriched by Vicar’s message, theme based activities and testimony by members. Involvement of all the members was kept as a top priority throughout the year.
Yuvajana Sakhyam raised a record breaking net amount of $2044 through their bake-sale fundraiser in April, for charity purposes and YS activities. The mission activities included Medical aid to a kidney patient, Education aid to a nursing student, Housing aid for a missionary, Cancer treatment aid for a previous Vicar, aid for restoring eyesight of 10 poor people through Gift of Vision Program etc. A monetary donation of $1520 was given towards Bothli Mission project through member donations and mission box collection.
By God’s grace, this is the first year in which Yuvajana Sakhyam had joint meetings together with Young Families Fellowship and Youth Fellowship (April & November) as well as worked together on three mission projects. These three projects ‘Reach’, ‘Health fair & Concert’ and ‘Feeding America’ were the steps towards fulfilling Theodosius Thirumeni’s vision of Neighborhood Mission. Each project was initiated by one organization, while members of all the three organizations actively worked towards its success. Feeding America project was initiated by YS along with Turkey drive (YF). We donated 26+ boxes of non-perishable food items, 30 Turkey & $900 to the Community Food Bank of NJ and Assumption church food bank.YS hosted a Center meeting and participated in all center, regional and church activities. Few members along with Achen and Kochamma attended the Y.S Diocesan conference in California.
