Sunday School

Sunday School Superintendent: Dr. Lizy Mathew

Sunday school meets every sunday at 9:00 AM starting with Praise and Worship. Sunday school children give leadership in singing songs. A teacher or one of the older youth give a brief devotional during Praise and worship. Sunday school classes start at 9:30 AM and end by 10:20 AM. There are about 32 dedicated teachers and 140 students in the Sunday school. Our Sunday school is very active at the local, regional and national levels. The Sunday school regularly conduct talent festival, Vacation Bible School and Christmas play for the children. Our students won first place in the Regional Competitions held in the 2015-2016 academic year in Philadelphia.

Our students won first places in both English and Malayalam group songs. Sunday school would like to thank Mr. Lijin Joy and Ms. Jeny Varughese for training the children and Ms. Jeena Mathew for helping with the music.  Sunday school would like to thank Mrs. Suma Thomas and Mr. Jobu Thomas for training the children for the Bible Quiz competitions.  Sunday school would also like to thank Mrs. Grace Thomas for preparing the local quiz competition in selecting the team.  Diocesan examinations were held in May and one student from our Sunday school received an A+ and ten other students got distinctions.

Our parish VBS was held from June 29 – July 3rd, 2015 under the supervision of the Sunday school. More than 100 children from our parish and nearby sister parishes attended the VBS. The theme for this year was “BLAST TO THE PAST”. By the grace of God, we were blessed with good weather and all children enjoyed the VBS. The parish would like to thank the Sunday school superintendent Mr. Roy Mathew, VBS conveners, Ms. Jeny Varughese & Ms. Liji John, the food coordinators, Mr. Reny Easaw and Mr. Siby Mathew, and the volunteers and parents who helped make the VBS-2015 a special one for all children.

The Sunday school would also like to thank the Christmas Play conveners Mrs. Jincy Varghese, Mr. John Oommen and Ms. Ancy Samuel for their dedication and services. The Sunday school would like to thank Mr. Roy Mathew for his dedicated service as the Sunday school superintendent for the academic years 2012- 2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
