Secretary: Mr. John Joseph
The Young Families Fellowship (YFF) is an active organization, which focuses not only on the spiritual growth of the members but also on the welfare of the fellow human beings. 2015 activities started with the planning of REACH, a program organized with the collaborative effort of Youth Fellowship, Yuvajana Sakhyam, and Young Families Fellowship. The members from all three organizations worked together to make the event a success. The event was conducted on Sat, April 11th. Mr. Jason Romine delivered an inspiring message. The program concluded with a presentation in the basement with various volunteer opportunities that are available in Bergen County.
YFF conducted a yard sale in June and collected $ 500 to support the mission activities of the fellowship. In August, YFF organized a summer concert at the Votee Park, Teaneck, NJ. Along with St. Peters band, two other bands from neighboring churches played melodious Christian songs. The YFF members also supported the Youth Fellowship with Health fair, which was conducted at the park before the concert. As a part of Breast Cancer awareness Month, YFF joined the fight against cancer and held a fundraising activity in October. YFF raised $2363.00 by selling T-shirts and through monetary donations. The funds will be used to help breast cancer patients in Kerala who cannot afford the expenses.
In November, “I Am Thankful Dinner” was conducted in collaboration with Youth Fellowship and Yuvajana Sakhyam. 26 families and Youth Fellowship members attended the dinner and fellowship. As part of Thanksgiving, YFF joined the Yuvajana Sakhyam in organizing and collecting food for “Feeding America Project”. Joining with the Yuvajana Sakhyam, in December, YFF collected Toiletries, Socks, Scarves, Gloves, etc. and donated to Bergen County Housing, Health, and Human Services. The offertory collected during the “Awakening” was also donated to this organization. YFF has been supporting three children at the Rakshak Trust, India since 2010. As a part of this effort, $900 was sent this year to meet the daily expenses of these children.
YFF meetings were conducted regularly throughout the year. These meetings provided opportunities for members to enrich their relationship with Christ and to develop spiritual fellowship among members.Sun, June 21st, 2015 was celebrated as the Young Families Fellowship Sunday. Dr. Thomas K. John delivered the message during the service. YFF members actively participate in the daily functioning of the church as well. YFF members serve as Sunday school teachers, executive committee members, and as youth fellowship advisors. Let us pray that the services of the YFF members continue to be a blessing for the church and the neighborhood at large.
